Nah - if it were 'Howard Hughes' you wouldn't have mixed the colors! ;)
orieyenta- good one!
What in the name of poultry did you do? And why?
sure. Whatever.
I looked Howard Hughes but I still don't get the reference.
And what was the candy for?
are you making your own 100-calorie snack packs??
basically.
howard hughes, as depicted in the extremely authoritative film 'the aviator', suffered from ocd to the extent that he categorized and ziplocked everything from his food to his urine.
ready for my spiel?
i have found that i like food that has little parts because i like to make it last through my morning paper. theoretically, as long as there's something to read, i will keep eating. awhile back when they were selling halloween candy they sold kissables in these PERFECT 70 calorie pack things, like you bought 28 packs and you had your snacks for the rest of the month, and i have been searching for them desperately ever since, because i know that if i buy a whole bag of chocolate, it will not live out the day. finally i could stand it no longer (how long does a cookie last? three seconds?) and bought a big bag and painstakingly sorted it into 28 ziplocks of 13 kissables each.
seeing what i had wrought i began to fear for my sanity, a deceptive phrase, as it implies that at one point i was in full possession of my faculties.
hark.
Oh, at first glance I thought you had the same amount of each color in each set. But you don't, so I don't see what's wrong...
unless you count the fact that they're not all the same amounts! AH! Want. To. Sort. Candies!
When I eat M&M's, I try to sort them so I have sets of every single color. Then I eat all the remaining ones so it's even... or I'll start eating sets and then just devour all the rest in one shot. Either way, I'm still normal, right? Right?!
I always eat my candies by color...I like to have the same number of every color, and then I decrease each color systematically, one by one, starting with the color I like least and ending with my favorite. So fear not, you are just as normal as the rest of us bloggers...which means...well, right...
It's a very pretty picture, in any event!
Speaking of sorting, what ever happened to the tan M&Ms?
For now, I'm just thinking of what Shabbos food you'd eat that has "little parts" :)
Tiny challahs. Micro salad. Individual spoonfuls of soup. One chulent bean. This could be a lot of fun.
Haha, I eat colored candies the same way! Sort by color, eat any "extras" so the numbers are even, then eat groups consisting of every color at a time, least favorite first and most favorite last. I'm only a little OCD... :-P
RM, tan M&Ms were phased out when they added the blue ones.
By the way, the bags of kissables reminded me first of mishloach manot.
Wait a second, everyone else is as crazy as meeee? Weee!
[embarrassed cough]

Um, if the Raggedys don't feed you this week, feel free to raid our apartment. We have a ton of leftover food, including desserts. Mmkay? Just because we're not there doesn't mean our open door policy isn't. :)

Me too!
Either we're all insane or we're all normal. If everyone acts insane, does that become the new normal?
Normal is overrated. And I like my frizzy haired friend even if she eats chocolate everyday. Is this an addiction? Ever heard of Baby Carrots???
They're still "mini"...
Well, my first (last...only) thought on the pic was:
YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
I also eat colored candies in sets of each color.
At first I thought these were for a bar mitzvah or something.
Aaah! Either I'm normal or I've found a whole bunch of people as crazy as I am! Does anyone out there also put one of each set on either side of their mouth so as to "balance" out the taste in their mouth?
Marginally related idiosyncrasy: I hate it when one sneaker gets untied and then when you tie it you have to undo the other to retie it because otherwise your feet feel so weird with one newly tied "tight "sneaker and one day-worn "loose" sneaker. Anyone second that?
can i just say how entertaining, comforting, and disturbing these comments have been? i think of anything i've ever written, this sentence has produced the best comments...of course, ezzie could have predicted that.

FOR SURE!!! I hate that. I try to stop myself, but I always redo the other one.

No, that's just weird. :P (Sorry, I had to!!)
Fudge - Yup. ;)
I think I have just found the entire population of my fellow almost-OCD-but-not-obsessed-enough people.
Serach says: Ask her if she wants a picture of all my shirts in color order.
oooh. Can I see that pic?
This strikes me as a rather pretty picture. I would never have the self control to eat just one bag of candy, however.
me neither.
heck, I don't have the self control to stay away from the OUD chocolate (or lately the cookies) available on my campus.
(any money I happen to have loose not explicitly spoken for generaly goes to such a cause.)
cookies make life soooo much better.
AH! RUN! THEY'RE TAKING OVER! When are you coming back Hugh-girl?
So I'm not crazy after all?!
I grew up thinking that something must be wrong with me because I always had to scratch the left side of my face if I scratched the right side. And the thing with shoelaces. And even the candy on both sides of my mouth...
I've mellowed out a bit since I was a kid, but I still like that symmetry of evening things out.
Thanks, y'all, for making me feel slightly less abnormal! :-P
Umm, I generally eat colored candies randomly but when I get down to the last handful I try to have the same number of each in my hand.
I'm reading this right before lunch, so all I want to do with that picture is eat all the candy NOW MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HA. Ha. hya?
you and Shua have a lot in common.
